Our next athlete has been called a Judo prodigy and she certainly has the record to prove it (eight gold medals in 2018 alone). Her name is Qona Christie and she represents New Zealand Judo on the world stage. Qona started Judo when she was only seven years old and has never looked back. Since her induction into the world of Judo, she now participates in competitions and training camps all over the world.
When asked about her future sporting goals, Qona said she hopes to one day represent New Zealand at the Commonwealth and Olympic Games. With help from the Support 4 Sport programme, we know she has the potential to get there and bring home the gold for New Zealand. We are thrilled to be joining Qona on her sporting journey and are excited to see just how far she will go!
